Hi,

I will be getting austrian citizenship in few months. I am married with 2 childrens. I have heard that austrian citizen has to do mandatory military/civil service between the age of 17 till 35. i will be 35 complete in feb 2017. And will be getting my citizenship in coming months. So my question is whether i have to do these services if i take citizenship now or its better to take the citizenship after feb 2017?

It is quite liekey that you will have to do military service, but I'm not siure if postponing will work if there will be the decesion soon.

I'm in the same situation - I got the positiv decision in October 2017 and I'll become 35 in August.
Did you wait for the citizenship, have you got called for the military?
