Hey everyone!

I have a quick question. I am a 22-year-old international student and I have received the extention of my residence permit by letter today. However, it is stated that I need to bring
"aktueller Auszug aus der Evidenz eines staatlich anerkannten Kreditverbandes" with me when picking it up.

I went to my bank to ask about it but they could only give me a regular account statement. I of course had already submitted that to the Magistrat with the original application, so I am pretty sure they want something else. I told them about it and I was then advised to go to the KVS to get the evidence. Apparently it's about my credit score in Austria or something along those lines, but I've never had a loan nor used an Austrian credit card before. KVS's site suggests that they deliver this information only in 2 weeks and I don't have that much, as I am supposed to pick up my residence permit by March 1st the latest, and I was planning on going on a trip right away.

So, I don't know what to do, is this indeed about my credit score, (I don't even work, so how could they give me a loan/credit card to begin with) or do they just want to see my current bank statement.

Thanks in advance!

Try to call / come to KSV and explain them your situation (or ask somebody who knows German). Half a year ago it was possible to come to them and take all the necessary documents by hand. Note that post may deliver the letter about a week.

Or, if this is not possible, explain this for Magistrat (for example, per email).

It is about open payments you have to do regularly - there could be the re-payment of a loan..

regards

you can get that from either KSV ( www.ksv.at ) or AKV ( www.akv.at) ..
AKV sent me faster than KSV (i ordered the one which is free of charge)

I went to KSV's office and they were the second most unfriendly/mean people I have dealt with in Austria so far. (No one beats the Magistrat 35) From what I've gathered it's a private company so I don't even understand how they still run a business acting like this. They said they had English consultation but it was far from reality. Anyway, they insisted I wait 14 days and that there's no way to it. I mean, how hard could it be to check this in their database and hand it to me right in their office. Whatever, thanks for the tip!

Thank you for your reply but I still don't really get what this is all about. I have never had a loan so that's not a possiblity, nor have I ever missed a payment/received a Strafe. Do they ask for this document only when there's something suspicious, or is this just a general policy of MA 35 to sometimes want to check these things?

I wish you had told me earlier, but thanks! I was not satisfied with KSV at all, I don't recommend them to any sane individual. The next time, I am definitely using AKV without a doubt.

I was never told to bring this document prior to the arrival of my letter of extention though, (which arrived yesterday with a pick up date of March 1st, by the way) nor have my Sachbearbeterin ever mentioned the necessity of such information when asked whether there were any missing documents or not. This has literally come up after they gave me a positive Entscheidung, which makes no sense per se. It's solely their fault for not having it listed in their list of required documents for students in the first place. Like Jesus, it's 2018 and it takes 2 weeks for a mail to be delivered WITHIN Vienna. Nothing justifies the irony.

Also, wieviel ist 2+2 ?
